To coincide with the band’s February 2014 tour of Australia and New Zealand, The National front man Matt Berninger will appear at a number of special Q&A screening events for the documentary MISTAKEN FOR STRANGERS.
Screenings will take place in Auckland, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Tickets to the special event screenings will go on sale directly via cinemas today, 19 December.
The film is shot by Matt’s brother, Tom Berninger, and documents Tom’s experience touring with the band. Featuring live footage from the tour following the release of the album High Violet, the film is an incredibly insightful look into the band as well as the relationship between Matt and Tom. The film also features footage of the band in the studio recording for the new album Trouble Will Find Me.
Matt and his wife Carin Besser serve as producers on the film, and have been actively involved in its development along with Tom. Carin also co-edited for the film.
